Terms of Use
Last updated: July 25, 2026
By using TrailDash you agree to these terms.
TrailDash is not a safety device
Hiking is dangerous. TrailDash is a planning and community tool, not an emergency, navigation, or life-safety system. Maps and community reports can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Phones fail, break, and run out of battery. The SOS feature depends on your phone, your contacts, and connectivity, and can fail — carry a dedicated satellite communicator or beacon for real emergencies, tell people your plans, and use your own judgment. You hike at your own risk.
Your license
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use TrailDash on devices you own. The bundled maps and data are for use inside the app — don't extract, resell, or redistribute them.
TrailDash Pass subscription
- TrailDash Pass is an auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscription. The App Store shows the exact price in your local currency before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their policies.
Your content
You own what you post (register entries, photos, reports, messages). You grant us a license to store and show it in the app. Post only what you have the right to share, and be decent: no harassment, no impersonation, nothing illegal. We can remove content or accounts that break these rules. Reports you share with the community (like water status) are removed when you delete your account.
Community safety and moderation
TrailDash has zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content. Automated safeguards may stop prohibited messages before they are posted. In Trail Chat, long-press another person's message to report it or block the sender; blocked messages are hidden from you immediately. Reports enter our moderation queue, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms. For urgent moderation or safety concerns, contact [email protected].
Community information
Shelter status, water reports, and similar content come from other hikers. We don't verify it and make no promises about it. Treat it as a tip from a stranger, not a fact.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
TrailDash is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including personal injury, death, or property damage arising from use of the app or reliance on its information — and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
